Julia Ormond

JuliaOrmond was the daughter of Josephine, a lab technician, and John Ormond (a stockbroker) from Epsom, Surrey. She is the second of five kids born to her parents. She attended private schools, first Guildford High School and then Cranleigh School, where early stage performances like Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady began to draw attention. After a short time in arts college, she was enrolled to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. She graduated in 1988. Ormond first made an appearance on British TV in the serial Traffik, about the illegal heroin trade that flows from the far East to the streets of Europe. Ormond played the heroin addicted daughter of the character and was also a Home Office minister working to combat heroin importation. The role was well-received from the beginning.
